The portrait concerts of the project “Musical Evenings at the Museum”, will be dedicated to the work of composer Faraj Garayev
As part of the joint project of the Baku Contemporary Music Society and the Museum Center “Musical Evenings at the Museum”, another portrait-concert dedicated to the composer Faraj Garayev will be held as part of the celebration of his 80th birthday. The concert will take place on April 24 at 19:00 in the Museum Center (III floor, assembly hall).
Faraj Garaev (1943*) is a person who paved a new path in the history of our music both as a composer and as a teacher. In 1966 he graduated from the Azerbaijan State Conservatory (now the Baku Music Academy named after U. Hajibeyli) in the class of his father, Professor Kara Garayev. Since 1999 — professor at the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky. F. Garaev is the initiator and leader of various projects on contemporary music in Russia and Azerbaijan.
The works of Faraj Garaev combined various musical concepts of the 20th century, as well as neoclassicism, serialism, pointillism, sonorostics, etc.
On April 24 at 19:00 at the portrait concert in the Museum Center the works of Faraj Garayev “Sonata No2”, “Malheur me bat”, “Postludio I” will be performed. The concert will be moderated by Professor Zumrud Akhundova-Dadashzade. Soloists: Farida Mamedova (soprano), Raul Huseynov (guitar), Rena Fakhradova (piano) and Khumay Gasimzada (piano).
