Exhibition of Azerbaijan artists “Seventh floor”

On 22 October 2010, at 17.00, an exhibition and catalogue, ‘7th Floor’, was presented in the Museum Centre. The exhibition’s title was symbolic; it refers to the studios of the artists which are situated on a 7th floor. Deputy Minister Adalet Veliyev, on behalf of Abulfaz Garayev, Minister of Culture and Tourism, visited the creative studios of the Artists’ Union of Azerbaijan, situated at 31 Istiqlaliyyat St., Baku. It was there, on 15th January 2010 that the idea was formed to hold the exhibition.
66 works were displayed in the exhibition. Participants in the project included – Namiq Mammadov, Tofiq Gazanferov, Yaver Sultanov, Rufat Salamov, Mammad Mustafayev, Husein Haqverdiyev, Anar Huseinzade, Emin Askerov, Nadir Bayrishov. Fikret Ibrahimli, Elkhan Muradzade, Aydin Tagiyev, Tarverdi Guliyev, Natiq Safarov and Bahram Khalilov.
The variety of colour, character and feeling in the works of each artist spoke of the richness of tradition in Azerbaijani art, its broad outlook, its refined taste and the mastery of modern artists.
The exhibition was organised by the Department of Fine Art of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan.
The creator and designer of the catalogue was Honoured Artist of Azerbaijan Tahir Mammadov.
