Personal exhibition of Irina Eldarova “Hi, its Me”
27.11.2010 - 02.12.2010Art Gallery
Ceremonial opening: 26 November 19:00 PM
Organizer: Irina Eldarova
I dreamt about making an exhibition like this.
I dreamt that a poster with the name of IRINA ELDAROVA would float over the city…
The opportunity came but having looked inside myself - I did not see anything but fear…
So where are your ideas?
Where are the images that you stumble over all the time – in the street, in your dream, when you are listening to the music or eating badymzhan dolmasy?
Where are you – 15, 22, 40… and so many years old?
I did not find a worthy answer to these questions to myself.
And I turned the handle of a heavy door with a PERSONAL EXHIBITION sign.
I had one condition for myself that I had to meet, one but it was mandatory: in order for the exhibition to be interesting to others, it has to be interesting for myself.
The exhibition is named symbolically – Hello! It’s me
The exhibition can be divided into several parts:
1. Plywood as it is. These are large-size works (152x152) for me (my height is 157).
What is in them? I don’t know. It is LOVE if I can put it in one word. Just see for youself.
2. Three works are made up of many small canvases (40x40).
They are: God! Keep America safe!; Poppies; Matches.
3. How can I describe the third part?
In general, this part is dedicated to men, those men who belonged to Humanity.
Winston Churchill, Nikita Khrushev, John F. Kennedy, Nicolas Sarkozy, and some other great men… Who are they? Who am I?
4. Some personal stuff. The city, the yellow skies, irons, a glass of water, lots and lots of hearts…
a lot from myself – personal…
5. Watercolours. This is a totally special part of the exhibition. And I like them.
In total, there are over 60 works – made from oil, acryl, watercolour, canvas, paper, plywood, cardboard – many of which are being exhibited for the first time.
I want to see myself – who is it – IRINA ELDAROVA?
I want to make your acquaintance, dear contemporaries.
I want you to meet me.
I have put the whole of myself as of today – nothing has been left.
Nonetheless, please, judge me strictly.
