Exhibition "Self-portrait"

Over the years Azerbaijani artists have created fascinating self-portraits. Many have been displayed on a regular basis in exhibitions but, still, a great number have remained in the artist’s studio, away from the public eye. Viewers have often seen them with portraits, paintings and still-lifes, as well as alongside paintings with historical, battle and everyday themes. Until now, self-portraits have not been the principal theme of an exhibition in the Republic. A very interesting exhibition, ‘Self-portrait’ was opened on 21 September 2010 for the first time in Azerbaijan, with the purpose of promoting the self-portrait genre.
